Acknowledgement & Gratitude are disciplines that we should all practice daily.
I want to begin by thanking my coach, Jon Cheplak, for introducing me to the power of acknowledgement and for the Tom Ferryorganization and coach, Mike Schumm, for holding me accountable to expressing gratitude, on a consistent basis, for the awesome people and the many blessings in my life.
We are who we surround ourselves with I'm grateful to be surrounded by amazing leaders, leaders who challenge me to be better. In my opinion, “better” is the ultimate micro-commitment. What would our lives and businesses look like if we trained the focus of our discipline on being just a little bit better today than we were yesterday?
My wife is the ever-present example of "better" in my life. Life is so good when your best friend, life partner, and business partner is also your role model. She is the voice in my head. I need to listen to that voice more often! She approaches each day with love and kindness for her family and her tribe at JWRE. It has been amazing to watch her evolve into a strong woman of God over the past year. Her spiritual counsel comes from the leadership of our Pastor, the Word, and our Church Family at Celebration Church.
Pastor Johnny Hunt is the living embodiment of radical transformation. Seeing how God has changed his heart, mind, and tongue, gives me hope that I can get there one day. I have been conditioned for crass behavior. Yet, at the end of the day our conditioning is just an excuse. My antics are consistently well received as humorous, but I know that the time for me to evolve into a better example is way past due. Having a spiritual leader that believes in your leadership potential, is the accountability I desperately need in my life.
My real estate team is the rock that our entire organization was built on and Kendall Wahlert is the glue that holds it all together. She is passionate about her tribe, her church, her family and her team. She takes great responsibility for all of those people. I remain grateful for her leadership. I don’t praise her nearly as much as I should. We also bump heads a lot! The fact that my leaders challenge my leadership is one of the many things that makes #JWRE great. Kendall has made decisions that have changed the trajectory of our team and that path is changing lives. Our team is the example of what is possible and that example creates a ripple effect throughout our entire organization.
JWRE is now an organization that is expanding into multiple markets with furious momentum. This momentum is fueled by great leaders. Great CEOs and Brokers that are attracted to our Core Values, because they are a representation of who they are at their core. I am truly blessed with leaders that want to Learn more, Earn more, Give more and Serve more. The secret ingredient to having the vision of your organization become the mission of your leaders is simply hiring the right people.
I am grateful for the wisdom of Jim Rohn, who taught me that success is not something you earn, it’s something you attract. For many years I was not an attractive leader. It took the humbling power of desperation, the wisdom of amazing mentors, and the grace of Jesus to open my eyes to the fact that I had to be the change I wanted to see in the world. I will forever be a student of great leaders, so that I can continue my evolution into the founder of a company that attracts transformational leadership.
I am grateful to our stellar supporting cast and for the fact that there are many more rockstar leaders yet to come at JWRE, both internally and externally.
It is crazy to live a life this abundant, to be surrounded by people that live on purpose with purpose. Our leadership staff is passionate about what JWRE stands for, and it is going to be exciting to see how far our #LEGSsquad can take my vision, a vision that has become their mission.
